Thank you so much for your support and for reading the newsletter throughout 2023.
I want to share that I am really proud of myself because I managed to send the newsletter every week without interruption!
Holidays, sickness, busy weeks… it was a challenge, but I felt it was important to keep it up.
Honestly, I was surprised by how much value it had for me:
- I connected with the amazing Product Marketing community.
- Every week I was forced to think and organize my thoughts.
- It motivated me to truly learn every week.
- It was humbling to see how little I actually knew and how much more there was to learn.
- I improved at remembering what I just heard on a podcast or read in a book without the need to go back.
- Listening to hardworking and successful people on many podcasts helped motivate me and shift my mindset.
- It helped me to understand what kind of Product Marketer I am.
It’s a time for resolutions for the next year, so after this experience, I would encourage you to do one thing regularly:
write.
It can be journaling, daily notes, thank you items at the end of the day, or good night stories for your kids. You can publish it, or you can keep it secret… personal or professional life-related… pen and paper or online, it doesn’t matter. Writing really helps, and I believe it is the first cornerstone on a path to growth, success, and happiness.
And one especially surprising finding after doing all of this was that being consistent is the one thing that helps with procrastination. I’ve heard so much advice over time to beat procrastination. But this really works.
So, pick something small and easy that you will do regularly – every day or every week – and let the results speak for themselves. Your “procrastination monkey brain” will soon feel the benefits – so next time, it will be easier to start any task and keep doing it regularly. If you need help with it, you can use the same technique Jerry Seinfeld or the Duolingo app uses: have a calendar somewhere visible and cross off every day when you manage to complete even the smallest task towards your goal.
